Greening the desert

Following up on yesterday’s post about Food Forests I thought it would be good to show an even more extreme example.

After all, it must be easy to take a bit of grassland in Australia and plant a few trees, yes?

But what about the deserts — what about 10 acres of salty desert, two kilometres from the Dead Sea?

Could this ‘permaculture’ approach be made to work there?

As Barack Obama might say, “Yes it can!”
