Free sustainable product and innovation support

Yesterday Bill Becker talked about the importance of having positive visions of the future.

My own positive vision of the future for Farnham includes a strong local economy, made up of businesses delivering sustainable products and services to customers just down the street, and around the world.

Today we can announce a step forward towards that vision.

Farnham’s very own Centre for Sustainable Design is now able to provide free research and advice related to greener product design and development, funding, marketing and commercialisation.

The Centre has raised funding to support this from two European Commission programmes: INTERREG IVa and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

So, if you are an inventor, start-up, service or product manufacturing company with less than 250 employees, based in the South East England Development Association region (in other words Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, West Sussex, East Sussex, Kent, Berkshire, or Surrey!) you may be eligible for up to two days of free consultancy support.

The support can help you with:

> greening of existing products or services
> development of new greener products or services

And it might include:

> identifying opportunities to reduce costs through environmental improvements
> identifying new market opportunities
> developing new product and service concepts
> identifying the implications of product-related environmental legislation
> exploring opportunities related to low carbon product or services
