Round up of the week

With no meeting on Monday because of the Bank Holiday this has been a relatively quiet week.

We finished last week’s newsletter by saying that we were about to visit Farnham Town Council. That meeting, although brief, seemed to go very well and you can read about it here.

Three members of Transition Farnham then spent the weekend at the Transition Conference, in the Battersea Arts Centre. It was quite different from other conferences I have attended in the past. You can see photos and read more here.

Meanwhile on the website this week, Paula has started an “Eco-Renovations” project page. She will be looking at what can we do to eco-fit our homes… and is it worth it?

And Eloise has published details of the Transition Training which will now take place in September, in a 15th Century barn in Elstead. Transition Training is delivered by the Transition Network and is open to all, whether you are part of a Transition Initiative or not. As the network says, it is a “powerful personal journey to greater personal resilience” so if you are at-all interested, do check out the details here.

Finally, I will be getting married in eight days’ time, and so will be taking a break from Transition for a couple of weeks. While I am away the newsletters and updates will be handled by Alex Scrivens (thanks for volunteering, Alex!). So enjoy the change of style, and I look forward to seeing as many as possible of you at the Transition Midsummer Party on Saturday 20 June.

The next meeting of Transition Town Farnham will start at 7:30pm on Monday 1 June, at St Thomas on the Bourne.
