Not just one but 18 of the world’s professional medical organisations have just written in the British Medical Journal and The Lancet that “The effects of climate change on health will… put the lives and well-being of billions of people at increased risk”.
On the other hand they also say that:
“A low-carbon economy will mean less pollution. A low carbon-diet (especially eating less meat) and more exercise will mean less cancer, obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.
“[This is an] opportunity, surely, not a cost.”
