A candlelit “Vigil for Survival”

Actually, we think it’s a vigil for fun and a better quality of life!

Today we have obtained permission to hold a “candlelit vigil” at the top of Downing Street on Saturday.

We talked to the police, the Town Council, Waverley Borough Council, and finally to the Surrey County Council, who after some discussion amongst themselves told us to… “just get on with it.”

To mark the half-way point of the Climate Talks in Copenhagen, and as part of 350.org’s worldwide event, we be lighting at least 200, and possibly as many as 350 candles.

You can also sign up here (as part of the global Avaaz event) or here (on our Ning site).

The event will take place between 4pm and 6pm on the Traffic Island at the top of Downing Street. Saturday 12 December.

We hope to see you there.
