According to guardian.co.uk of Sunday 11 April 2010, the US military is warning that oil output may dip, causing massive shortages by 2015. Are we surprised? When those sons of fun in the military, with their aircraft carriers capable of fuel economy under 0.1 mpg, start to squeal about Peak Oil, the rest of us can be sure that the issue, if not the right corrective action, is being talked about. They seem to be blaming a lack of investment in production, which isn’t quite the Transition perspective.
As usual, the Guardian reporter has a rather lax definition of Peak Oil. This report from 21 March Energy minister will hold summit to calm rising fears over peak oil, of a closed-door meeting attended by Rob Hopkins of Transition, is rather better.
