Electric car goes 623 miles on a single charge

A car group in Tokyo recently drove an electric car 1,003.184 kilometers (about 623 miles) on a single charge, breaking its own record for greatest distance traveled without recharging.

That means we could drive from Farnham to Newcastle and back on a single charge.

Or Farnham to Paris and back.

Or from Farnham we could get to just 20 miles short of Geneva without recharging…

As the blog report says, “how do you fit more than 8,320 batteries (albeit small ones) into a car as tiny as the Mira?” And was there any leg room left?

Still, it’s an indication that performance and capability are improving…
