If humans can have sustainable, off-grid buildings, then why can’t farm animals too?
Architects in Israel have designed this futuristic-looking hen house which apparently generates its own power, and recycles its own waste in a closed-loop system (turning chicken manure into biofuel).
It seems local farmers aren’t too keen on the idea though — they think the design is too industrial, despite the promised financial (and ecological) benefits.
But apparently manufacturers Agrotop are planning to adapt a version of this coop and make it available in the UK… Perhaps that would be a better solution for the Runfold ‘composting’ facility???
