In 1968 Robert Kennedy put it like this.

He said, “Gross National Product measures everything, except that which makes life worthwhile.”

So, instead of measuring how much money our economy supposedly generates each year (a figure which the banking crisis has shown us is an illusion), why don’t we measure how happy people are?

Instead of creating apocalyptic nightmares of what the future might be like, why don’t we spend more time creating visions of what it could be?
