Raising money for Bishop’s Meadow Trust

We’ve reported a couple of times how the Bishop’s Meadow in the centre of town has come up for sale and been bought, on a temporary basis, while the townsfolk raise the money to purchase the land.

Now the Bishop’s Meadow Trust is putting on a couple of money-raising events.

The first is not a Burns Night but rather a Bairn’s Night — a fun time for kids, and a bar for the adults, at Rowledge Village Hall on 22 January. Timing is 3:30pm-6pm, cost is just £5 and there will be food and drink (I am not sure whether this is included in the price or not).

Also, towards the end of 2011, they are planning another KidzFest — around 200 stalls will be erected across the water meadows, and the day will be an extravaganza for kids. They are looking for people to man (and woman) the stalls, so if you’d like to get involved (as a couple of us already are) or to find out more information you can contact the Trust via their website.
