Now here’s something worth having in your back yard.
These 36 acres of photovoltaic panels in Provence will supply the electricity needs of 8,000 families.
(Assuming four people per family that would be a town slightly smaller than Farnham.)
By the end of this year (2011), solar panels will cover 200 hectares and produce around 100MW.
I’d rather have this in my back yard than a nuclear plant, or even coal or gas.
