A new market to promote local makers, bakers, craftsmen and sellers of great Vintage items is to open at Tweseldown Racecouse on Saturday 26th May. 9am to 4pm Entrance £1 (Free to under 16s).
This will be a monthly event and will have things for all the family including drop in craft workshops and lots to eat and drink.
You will find vintage and retro treasures, expertly sourced by quality dealers such as Pret-A-Vintage with their beautiful garments and accessories; a wide range of local designer made products, from Used-To-Bees and The Vintage Studios lovingly handmade items to Bare Innocences organic beauty products and a wonderful selection of locally grown or produced artisan food and specialist plants. Try Mummy Makes tempting handmade fudge or take home seasonal plants in unique individual containers from A Vintage Garden.
The vintage items represent the craftsmanship of yesteryear, created with enthusiasm, individually constructed not mass produced, designed with quality as a priority, not profit. Bringing this together with the skilled makers of today creates a fulfilling shopping experience, encouraging artisans to keep traditions alive. Whether produced to a 100 year old secret recipe by local chefs that morning or vintage items, handmade by craftsmen 100 years ago, the emphasis is on quality.
The aim of the artisan market is to provide a platform for local designers, producers and sellers to showcase their unique products and to encourage local people to discover what is being created, right on their doorstep.
Go along and peruse the beautiful stalls, refuel at the hot food and drinks stands, sample the best of local produce and most importantly, discover something new.
Tweseldown Artisan Market opens for the first time on May 26th 2012 from 9am 4pm.
