Seattle builds park as first Food Forest in USA

food forestSeattle is taking the next steps in achieving its vision to become the kind of place people want to live in the 21st century.

A seven acre public park will be planted as a ‘food forest’ later this year.

Species to be grown include walnuts and chestnuts, blueberries, raspberries, apples, pears, and various herbs.

Their fruits will be available to residents.
