It’s official!!!!!!!!!!

With no meeting on Easter Monday, and some people away, this has been a  relatively quiet week. But the great news is that our application to the Transition Network to become official has now been accepted:

Farnham is now an officialTransition Town’ !!!!!

We are the 156th community around the world to become official, joining others such as Lewes, Totnes, and Stroud in the UK, Waiheke Island in New Zealand and the Sunshine Coast in Australia.

We are also now partners with Boulder Colorado, Sandpoint Idaho, and El Manzano in Chile, as well as Transition Towns in Sydney Australia, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Japan, and Canada.

In other news…

  • There has been a flurry of activity this week on the discussion group, especially around renewable energy
  • Transition Town Haslemere has arranged a showing of the Age of Stupid on the 8th of May. And…
  • Earl’s Court has an exhibition today and tomorrow (apologies for the late notice, but we only received the email today) called UK Aware. The exhibition promises to “show you how easy greener living can be, how it will improve your quality of life and how much money it can save you.” You can find out more here.
